Last week we took a look at the most popular songs of 2015 and now it's time for me to reveal my personal favorite songs of 2015. As I mentioned earlier, I'm doing things a bit different with this decade. I don't want to reveal the final results of this billboard project until 2016 is over so that I can have the most up-to-date version of my list of most popular songs of all time. Thus I'm spacing things out instead of revealing 2010 to 2015 in consecutive weeks and then doing nothing for three months. In the meantime, I will take advantage of the opportunity to reveal my top 10 favorite songs of each year in addition to the most popular songs of the year. In terms of what's eligible for this list, it's not the songs that were most popular during this year or the songs that were released this year. It's the songs that debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 during the calendar year. With some songs that's all the same year. But many songs that's either two or three different years. And I'm not limiting myself to the songs that made the top 10 like I do with my favorite "hits" of each decade lists. Any song that showed up on the Hot 100 is eligible, even if it was only there for a week. Which in this case means there were 390 songs to choose from. And a lot of them were really good. I hope you enjoy!
10- "Hold My Hand" - Jess Glynne
9- "Fight Song" - Rachel Platten
8- "Lean On" - Major Lazer & DJ Snake featuring MØ

Top 10 MOST POPULAR Songs of 2015
It's time for another year of the Billboard charts! If you are new this week, I had a goal recently to determine what the top songs of all time were based on a formula that I came up with to keep track of the top songs on the Billboard charts each year. Here's the methodology: each year of the charts I go week by week, giving points to the songs that make the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100. The #1 song gets 10 points, the #2 song gets 9 points, all the way down to the #10 song getting 1 point. I could've done the whole Hot 100 like this, but that would've been too time consuming, so I just stuck to the top 10 for now. If you are wanting to check out previous years that I've done, you can follow the links at the bottom of each list to browse through the years or you can search the blog archive on the right. It's my hope that as you scroll through this list that you take time to actually listen to the songs as you go instead of just looking at the title. This has been a great way for me to learn of new music and be reminded of songs that I may have forgotten about and I feel this can have the same effect on you, regardless of your taste in music. So without further delay, let's see what 2015 had to offer!
