Top 100 MOST POPULAR Songs of the 2000's: 90 - 81

The 2000's countdown continues today with 90 - 81! Click here for 100 - 91 to start at the top of this list if you haven't seen it yet. You'll be able to browse through the whole list by using the links at the bottom of each post or you can use the blog archive on the side. If you are new this week, I had a goal recently to determine what the top songs of all time where based on a formula that I came up with to keep track of the Billboard charts. I went through each year of the charts week by week giving points to the songs that made the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100. There are a lot of songs whose runs spanned over two years. With my yearly lists I go strictly by calendar year and thus those songs get short-changed. This is made up for in my decades lists where their entire runs are taken into account. With the songs that spanned two decades, I included their entire runs in the decade where they had the bigger run. Without further ado, let's take a look at these next 10 entries!

90- "I Wanna Love You" - Akon featuring Snoop Dogg

89- "Shake Ya Tailfeather" - Nelly, P. Diddy & Murphy Lee

88- "Girlfriend" - Avril Lavigne

87- "Heartless" - Kanye West

86- "With You" - Chris Brown

85- "So What" - P!nk

84- "Disturbia" - Rihanna

83- "Grillz" - Nelly featuring Paul Wall, Ali & Gipp

We've now gone through every individual year of the 2000's and so now it's time to count down the top 100 songs of the entire decade as a whole. The "2000's" being 2000-2009, of course. I'll be doing this over the course of the next 10 days, revealing the list 10 songs at a time, starting here with 100 - 91. At the bottom of each section, there will be links that will make it easier for you to browse through the whole list. Or you can use the blog archive on the side. Top 10 MOST POPULAR Songs of 2009

It's the final year of the decade! That means my 2000's countdown starts next week! If you are new this week, I had a goal recently to determine what the top songs of all time were based on a formula that I came up with to keep track of the top songs on the Billboard charts each year. Here's the methodology: each year of the charts I go week by week, giving points to the songs that make the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100. The #1 song gets 10 points, the #2 song gets 9 points, all the way down to the #10 song getting 1 point. I could've done the whole Hot 100 like this, but that would've been too time consuming, so I just stuck to the top 10 for now. If you are wanting to check out previous years that I've done, you can follow the links at the bottom of each list to browse through the years or you can search the blog archive on the right. It's my hope that as you scroll through this list that you take time to actually listen to the songs as you go instead of just looking at the title. This has been a great way for me to learn of new music and be reminded of songs that I may have forgotten about and I feel this can have the same effect on you, regardless of your taste in music. So without further delay, let's see what 2009 had to offer!

10- "You Belong with Me" - Taylor Swift

9- "Heartless" - Kanye West

8- "Whatcha Say" - Jason Derulo

7- "Just Dance" - Lady Gaga featuring Colby O'Donis

6- "Party in the U.S.A." - Miley Cyrus

5- "Right Round" - Flo Rida featuring Ke$ha

4- "Down" - Jay Sean featuring Lil Wayne

3- "Poker Face" - Lady Gaga

2- "Boom Boom Pow" - The Black Eyed Peas

1- "I Gotta Feeling" - The Black Eyed Peas
